Fire departments can now access Fire Safety Academy courses through participating firefighting training platforms. This enhancement makes it easier for the fire service to explore, assign, complete, and track training within the systems they already use.
If you've ever had to switch between platforms to complete training or document course completions, you're not alone. Fire departments have consistently told us they want a simpler way to access FSA courses. By bringing FSA courses into participating training platforms, evidence-based firefighting training and the latest fire safety knowledge can become a more seamless part of your everyday training.
Find, Take, and Get Credit for Firefighting Training More Easily
When training is spread across multiple systems, finding and completing courses can take extra time and effort. For many learners, the biggest benefit of using an integrated platform is simple: fewer steps between being assigned a course and completing it.
Using an integrated training platform means you can:
- Browse FSA courses through your existing training platform,
- Start and complete assigned training without switching systems,
- Receive credit for completed courses through your organization's existing training platform, and
- Access more than 35 free, evidence-based courses focused on real-world fireground operations.
"Having FSA courses available through the same platform we already use for training will be a huge benefit for our department. I can't think of a better way to expose our folks to the great science UL and the Fire Safety Research Institute are doing."

For Training Officers and Instructors: Manage Firefighting Training in One Place
Training officers and instructors often spend significant time assigning firefighting training, monitoring progress, and updating records. By making FSA courses available through participating training platforms, organizations can manage FSA training within the same system they already use for other online training activities.
Now, organizations with integrated platforms can:
- Assign FSA courses through existing training workflows,
- Monitor learner progress and course completions,
- Track training records within the same system, and
- Reduce administrative work associated with documenting completed training.
These updates make it easier to assign and track firefighter training without relying on multiple systems or workflows.
“It's exciting to see a long-requested feature become a reality. By making FSA courses available through participating training platforms, we're putting evidence-based training where many firefighters, instructors, and training officers already go to learn.”

Access Firefighting Training Through Participating Training Platforms
As of October 6, 2026, FSA courses are currently available through Advanced Problem Solving (APS).
Additional integrations are in active development and will be announced over the coming months.
Don't See Your Firefighting Training Platform?
We're continuing to work with additional training platform providers to expand access to FSA courses and evidence-based firefighting training.
While the FSA makes integration possible, training platform providers ultimately decide whether to proceed with implementation. If your organization's training platform is not currently integrated, download the FSA Integration Kit. The kit includes customizable email templates and an integration overview you can share with your organization’s leadership and your training platform provider to help start the conversation.
