Christian Vogt
Christian Vogt is a research engineer with UL Research institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute. Christian’s research focuses on fire hazards related to lithium-ion batteries, including suppression of electric vehicle fires and fire safety of battery overpack materials. He earned his Master of Science in fire protection engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he investigated the vulnerability of solar farms to wildfires, and earned his Bachelor of Science in physics from Saint Michael’s College, where he constructed a scintillation-based muon detector. Christian has also served as a volunteer firefighter in his native country of Germany, as a firefighter/EMT and Lieutenant with Saint Michael’s Fire and Rescue, and as Deputy Chief and training officer for WPI EMS.
