Sam Simons-Wellin is a postdoctoral researcher for UL Research Institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute. Sam earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. His graduate research focused on developing higher-fidelity descriptions of molecular mixing and diffusion flames in crossflow, with applications to efficient modeling of wildland fire flame dynamics and to the mitigation and control of industrial methane emissions.
