NERIS Surpasses 15 million in All-Hazards Incident Reporting
The National Emergency Response Information System has become the nation’s primary platform for fire and all hazards incident reporting, surpassing 15 million incident reports nationwide. Designed to modernize emergency reporting, NERIS replaces the legacy National Fire Incident Reporting System with a comprehensive, digital-first solution. The platform was developed through a collaboration among FEMA, the U.S. Fire Administration, the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate, and UL Research Institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute. Supporting President Donald J. Trump’s Executive Order 14239, NERIS provides scalable, actionable intelligence to public safety officials and equips state and local agencies with data-driven insights to strengthen preparedness and enhance national resilience.
