FSRI Instructional Design Intern Promoted to Instructional Design Associate

UL’s Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI) is proud to welcome Michelle Sauer to the ranks. She joined the team as an Instructional Design Intern in June 2023 and made a significant mark so quickly that she was offered a full-time role as an Instructional Design Associate in just two months.

Michelle’s contributions as an intern included reviewing courses prior to publishing, writing assessments for courses, and assisting in editing lessons and closed captions. In her new role, she will be redesigning legacy courses and planning, developing, and publishing courses for the Fire Safety Academy.

Michelle graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018 with a BA in English Language and Literature as well as Secondary Education. Prior to joining FSRI, Michelle was a middle school English teacher in the Montgomery County Public School System for five years.

FSRI is proud to provide support for students throughout their internships and careers. The Internship Program offers a wide range of opportunities for highly motivated students to contribute to the FSRI mission of addressing unsolved fire safety risks and emerging dangers in the world.
