Single-Family Acquired Structure Experiments: Visitor Day in Sidney, OH
The Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), part of UL Research Institutes partnered with the Sidney Fire Department to conduct a series of experiments involving live fire as part of our 2015 AFG “Study of Coordinated Fire Attack utilizing Acquired Structures” research project. The experiments were conducted in four houses in Sidney, OH (slated for demolition) that were donated by the Land Bank of Shelby County. Members from Sidney and surrounding fire departments participated in the experiments.
On June 11, 2018, we invited visitors to our test site located at 2401 Wapakoneta Avenue, Sidney, OH. The day began at 0800 hours and ran through approximately 1600 hours. Visitors were able to view the structures, instrumentation, and test plan prior to witnessing two full-scale experiments followed by networking with project technical panel members and FSRI advisory board members.
