Single-Family Acquired Structure Experiments - Visitor Day in Beavercreek Township, OH

Single-Family Acquired Structure Experiments: Visitor Day in Beavercreek Township, OH

November 2, 2018

In partnership with the Beavercreek Township Fire Department, UL's Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI) conducted a series of experiments involving live fire as part of our 2015 AFG “Study of Coordinated Fire Attack utilizing Acquired Structures” research project. The experiments were conducted in four houses in Beavercreek Township, OH which were donated by a private homeowner (previously slated for demolition). Members from Beavercreek and surrounding fire departments participated in the experiments.

On December 7, 2018, we invited visitors to our test site located at 1030 Hilltop Rd. Xenia, OH. The day began at 0800 hours and ran through approximately 1600 hours. Visitors were able to view the structures, instrumentation, and test plan prior to witnessing two full-scale experiments followed by networking with project technical panel members and FSRI advisory board members.
