The Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), part of UL Research Institutes, in collaboration with the United States Fire Administration, is pleased to announce the launch of the national engagement period for the three new data schemas for the National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS). These new schemas include:
- Incident Analysis: Capturing comprehensive data for in-depth analysis of incident trends, investigations, and outcomes.
- Community Risk Reduction: Collecting information to support targeted risk mitigation strategies within communities.
- Health and Safety: Focusing on the health and safety metrics vital for protecting first responders and the public.

- Public safety and emergency management officials

Engagement Period Details
We invite feedback from all stakeholders during the engagement period, running from August 5th, 2024 to September 4th, 2024. Your role in examining these schemas and providing feedback is critical to the success of NERIS going forward. All comments submitted will be adjudicated by the NERIS team.
