FSRI’s “Take C.H.A.R.G.E. of Battery Safety” Campaign Wins Two Distinguished Awards

The Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), part of UL Research Institutes, is pleased to announce that we have received two awards for our “Take C.H.A.R.G.E. of Battery Safety” campaign. The two awards include the The Stevie Awards’® gold-level award in the PR Campaign of the Year—Public Service category and finalist recognition in the 2024 North American SABRE Awards’ in the Public Education category.

The Stevie Awards honored this campaign as the PR Campaign of the Year in Public Service in the 22nd Annual American Business Awards® competition. The Stevie Awards are the world's premier business awards. They were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. The Public Service category recognizes campaigns and programs that advance public understanding of societal issues, problems, or concerns.

After a panel of 300 judges rigorously evaluated over 3,700 entries, the panel selected Take C.H.A.R.G.E. as one of the Gold Award winners. It was not only the singular campaign in its category to receive the gold-level recognition, but also the only campaign in its category that scored above the 8.25-out-of-10 threshold required to earn silver status. Judges’ comments about the campaign praised the cleverness of the acronym, as well as the success in driving broad-based awareness supported by data.

In addition, the 2024 North American SABRE Awards recognized the Take C.H.A.R.G.E. of Battery Safety campaign as one of finalists in the Public Education category. The SABRE Awards are the premiere showcase for the best in public relations. They include competitions for the Americas, the EMEA region, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region, attracting entries from more than 60 countries. The winners represent best practices in various categories, including social media, social responsibility, public affairs, and employee communications. Out of over 2,000 entries, the jury of industry leaders named the Take C.H.A.R.G.E of Battery Safety campaign one of four finalists in the Public Education category.

Congratulations to FSRI team members for executing this successful campaign!
