Meet our new Research Intern - Ryan Chaffer

Ryan Chaffer is a research intern with UL’s Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). He joined the team after completion of his M.S. is in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2021. He also holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland in Fire Protection Engineering. While working on his master’s degree, Ryan focused on the redesign, construction, and characterization of the Fire Propagation Apparatus with the intent of improving manufacturability, maintainability, and user operations.
