Join FSRI research engineer Richard Kesler as he speaks at the free, online workshop "Understanding the Movement of Toxic Chemicals through Firefighters' Protective Clothing and PPE." The hosts of this workshop, Ulster University’s Fire Safety Engineering Research and Technology Centre, have brought together international experts to discuss the latest developments in firefighter personal protection equipment protection against chemicals, including:
- Which toxic chemicals move across the layers of fire protective clothing and PPE,
- How the toxicants get transferred through protective ensembles during and after fires,
- The impact these chemicals have on firefighters’ health, safety, and well-being,
- How electric vehicle fires change the chemistry of the fire effluent, and
- The best operational and decontamination practices adopted by fire services in different countries.
Don’t miss this chance to learn and discuss the latest best practices in PPE research.
