Kaylee Morton

Research Scientist

Kaylee Morton is a Research Scientist at UL’s Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). She joined the team in May 2023 as an Engineering Intern before becoming a full time member of the team in September 2023. Kaylee received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in 2021. She recently graduated with her master’s degree in forensic science from Marshall University, where she conducted research for the use of alternate light sources in the detection of ignitable liquid residues on burned materials. Kaylee previously worked as an intern for the Fire Marshal’s Office at the Huntington Fire Department in Huntington, West Virginia. Her primary roles included testing fire debris evidence for the presence of ignitable liquids and assisting with fire investigations.
